Today was the start of the Cherry Blossom Photography Workshop in Washington, D.C., with fellow photographer Vickie Lewis. We have a great group of people and it is fun to get to know more photographers.
We started our shooting in Arlington National Cemetery, ran and got a quick dinner and luckily the rain came and went while we were dining. We then caught sunset at the Iwo Jima memorial site, which has a great view of the Washington Monument and the Capitol building, even though it is surrounded by scaffolding during renovation.
It was a rather solemn way to start the workshop but it makes me appreciate what we have as a country and how lucky I am to live here. All the political crap aside, this is still the best place to live.
