I’ve gone on several photo adventures with photographer friend Walter Choroszewski, but this one is the craziest. Neither of us have much time and neither has been to Hawaii, so we decided to do a short trip, leaving today (Thursday) and returning on Monday. It is the 50th state I’ve visited and Walter’s 48th.
We landed today in Honolulu after an 11 hour flight from Newark. The plane wasn’t very full, so we had plenty of room to move around and stretch our legs. I feared the flight would be some awful, but it wasn’t so bad.
As we descended, I couldn’t believe the color of the water, it wasn’t something that I’ve seen before. The blues, turquoise and sunlight created an amazing scene. We got our rental car, headed for our hotel and soon found ourselves on Waikiki beach, where Walter always dreamed of surfing. But instead of surfing today, we shot pictures along the beach and finished the long day with a nice sunset.
