Our planned shoot late yesterday afternoon during the first day of my Acadia photo workshop was a washout. It was just too rainy. Today wasn’t much better but we had warned people to be prepared because you never know what is going to happen in Maine.
And they came prepared. Everyone had good rainpants and raincoats. I showed the group my technique for shooting with an umbrella while keeping your hands free. Some people liked it and it didn’t work so well for others. It is always a challenge to shoot in the rain and although it is was hard, people actually had fun battling the elements.
Rain can make for great light and we visited Sieur de Monts where the green grass and birch trees made for some unique beauty.
