Feb. 17 - In this free two hour seminar you’ll get to know your camera better. Today’s cameras are loaded with lots of extras that really only add confusion and complication. Professional photographer Loren Fisher will help you understand what you need to focus on and what you can ignore. Loren will show you how to make proper exposures using the Exposure Triangle of ISO, shutter speed and aperture. It sounds complicated but Loren has simplified it and using his handout you will come away with new confidence in your ability to get consistent results.
You know the basics of Lightroom but know there is still more that you can get from Lightroom. I'll show you insights into advanced image processing that will make your photos like they were made by a professional. You'll learn how to visualize how photos can be improved, even while you are taking the shot, which is where it all begins.

Feb. 25 - The light from a small flash can make the difference between no picture and a good picture or, more importantly, between a good picture and a great picture. Pro photographer Loren Fisher will show you how to use your flash to get the results you’ve always wanted.
March 5, 19 & April 2 - There are some essential skills that you must master before you will get consistently good photographs every time you go out to shoot. In this series, I will help you create a strong foundation from which you’ll be able to get the shots you want and you'll enjoy making pictures even more. I will help you understand all the elements of your camera, what you can control on your camera, which settings you should use and which ones are just there creating confusion. The series will be three two-hour sessions so you don’t get overwhelmed with too much info at once. You’ll be given fun, easy exercises to do between sessions that will help you practice what we talk about. The sessions are two weeks apart so you have plenty of time to practice and see what doesn’t make sense. We’ll take it one step at a time and make sure you understand what you are doing before moving on.

March 29, April 5 & April 12 - There are plenty of tutorials, videos and books that will show you how every little detail of Lightroom works. They’ll show you how to get photos imported into Lightroom and show you how to use all the sliders, but they don’t tell you why or when you should be using Lightroom’s powerful controls to organize or how to get the most out of your photos. I’ll show you not only what the modules do, but the why’s and why not’s, no matter if you are making prints, posting on the Internet or sending photos off for publication. I’ll show you time-saving techniques that will help you find your images and export them quicker and make them look better.
April 14 - There's an old saying in photography that if your pictures aren't good enough you aren't close enough. That is why I love macro photography! I'll start off showing you examples and talk about the tricks and methods I use to really get great close-up photos. We'll talk about lighting, lenses and shooting angles. I'll give you some things to try and warnings of what hasn't worked for me. We'll talk about equipment like the difference between 50mm, 100mm and 200mm macro lenses, extension tubes, macro focus rails and focus stacking.
April 21 - Consistently making a beautiful Black & White photo requires more than just clicking a button in your computer or making a menu selection in your camera. It is a thought process from inception to output of your final image. In this workshop you will learn how to adjust your perception and learn how to visualize a monochrome scene.
May 4 to May 6 - This workshop is built on getting feedback on what you shoot and also on your approach to situations. We’ll catch the early morning light each day, shoot the beauty that is Cape May and spend time in the “classroom” talking about creative approaches to photography and reviewing the photos we are shooting. You will get lots of feedback while you are shooting from Loren and also learn from other photographers in the group during our review sessions.

Aug. 2-5 - Get away from city lights and explore photographing at night, astrophotography and light painting. You don’t have to head out west to find darkness, we’ll go to remote Vermont locations that offer tremendous views of the sky. I have mastered the technique of light painting: using flashlights to illuminate large objects in the dark. The combination of stars and light painting make for incredible images.
